2007 “Heretic” Petite Sirah, Paso Robles
As the creator of Heretic I beseech, implore, demand that you SCREAM at complacency (merlot). CRUSH conformity (cabernet). LIVE a life less ordinary… BE the Heretic…drink REAL wine(eclectic alternative varietals). Old vine Petite Sirah: Big, rich layers and layers of black fruit and spice. REAL LIFE…grab it!
2007 “Anarchy”, Paso Robles, Unconventional Rhone (Syrah, Mourvedre, Zinfandel)
I give you ANARCHY… I wanted to think outside the box and create an unconventional Rhone Blend. The blend is based on Syrah for that velvet mouthfeel and rich fruit, Old Vine Zin for spice and that brambly backbone, and Mourvedre provides some anise and makes the whole blend resonate. If you like the Rhone this wine will blow you away!
2007 Papillon Napa Valley Red Wine
This is Orin Swift Cellar’s third release of Papillon. This wine combines Bordeaux varietals from a number of great local vineyards including Lewelling, Taplin, Moorhead, Frediani, Ink Grade, and Morisoli; encompassing Napa Valley appellations Oakville, Rutherford, Saint Helena, and Howell Mountain.
2007 Owen Roe “Sinister Hand” Columbia Valley Rhône Blend
This is Owen Roe’s Rhône blend, dominated by grenache (62%) with healthy doses of syrah and mourvèdre to round things out and add complexity. 2007 was a very cool growing season adding juicy intrigue to the wine, which is characterized by bright red fruit, spicy black pepper and smoked meat notes. Try it with a cassoulet or even something spicy like carne asada.
2009 Sofa King Bueno – (27% Petite Sirah, 25% Syrah, 20% Tempranillo, 14% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 4% Tennat)
Juicy fruits, bing cherries and ripe blackberries followed up by notes of toasted vanilla, cinnamon spice and clove. Consistent flavor, well-integrated fruit and delicate tannins. Mouth-filling and seductive with no hard edges
